Memphis is on the banks of the Mississippi with the Dolly Parton Bridge in the background
The Peabody Hotel tradition - The Walk of the Ducks

They come down the elevator from the Penthouse,

walk the red carpet to the fountain pool in the Lobby where they spend the day.

Barges continuously going up and down the Mississippi River

Along the banks of the river on the waterfront of Memphis

is a scale model of the entire Mississippi River and its banks - about a one mile walk

Elvis & Graceland everywhere plus lots of other celebrity statues and attractions.
(A couple on our tour had to reserve two years in advance to get into the Heartbreak Hotel)

Virginia & Tennessee

Lots of police presence all over the city make it difficult to drive

An intersection will have police cars with flashing lights and appear to blocked

but may still be open for public use - they are just making thier presence known

Arlington Cemetery

Arlington Cemetery overlooks the Pentagon - which they discourage taking pictures of. Very impressive - and too many good photo opportunities.

This art monument was originally between the Twin Towers

Though damaged it did withstand the collapse of the Towers
It now stands in Battery Park until it can be returned to the Ground Zero site

We were unable to tour Ground Zero as it is now a construction site.

Massachusetts

A quaint little Massachusetts harbor Leominster the home of Johnny AppleseedDescending down the hillside into North Adams
Quite the hairpin curve but a great view of the valley below.
